Tóm tắt:
The rapid surge of multimedia data has intensified the demand for intelligent video retrieval systems capable of understanding complex natural-language queries. However, existing multimodal retrieval approaches remain limited in less-resourced languages due to English-centric representations, insufficient handling of linguistic diversity, and weak modeling of long-term temporal dependencies. Additionally, the lack of fine-grained, language-adaptive captions restricts semantic alignment between queries and video content, leading to reduced retrieval accuracy in languages such as Vietnamese.
To address these challenges, the team proposes a multilingual video retrieval framework developed for the Ho Chi Minh AI Challenge 2025, integrating multimodal embeddings with a caption-based module. The module generates fine-grained, language-adaptive captions for each keyframe, segmented into overlapping chunks for embedding and re-ranking, enabling more precise semantic alignment between video content and user queries. Extensive experiments on large-scale Vietnamese video datasets, notably the Ho Chi Minh AI Challenge 2025, demonstrate significant improvements in cross-modal alignment and retrieval accuracy, highlighting the framework’s scalability and effectiveness for multilingual multimedia retrieval.
