In recent years, the widespread application of blockchain technology has demonstrated its revolutionary potential in various fields, especially in education. As educational institutions face challenges in storing, verifying, and preventing fraud in academic certificates, blockchain emerges as a technology that can address these issues. Alongside the issue of storing credentials in the blockchain, another concern that blockchain researchers focus on is the issue of revocation. With data inaccuracies stored in the blockchain, data revocation becomes a necessary feature for blockchain systems. This paper provides technical information and objective evaluations of the performance, security, and privacy of various blockchain-based academic certificate revocation methods. Readers can use this information to choose the appropriate techniques for their projects or continue researching to find better optimization for these techniques.
